- About HCET, CNE's & Projects
HCET, Inc. provides coordination, design, delivery and evaluation of workshops for a number of specific training projects. These projects are often based on requests from private organizations and governmental institutions. HCET receives federal funds to conduct training in DHHS Region V. HCET also receives funds from state health departments for events. In-service trainings provided upon request. Health Care Education and Training, Inc. is an approved provider of nursing continuing education by the Indiana State Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. HCET is a designated provider of continuing education contact hours (CECH) in health education by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc. There is a $10 processing fee for a contact hour certificate. For more information on the number of contact hours available for individual workshops, please see individual training announcements.Adolescent Reproductive Health Funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Adolescent Reproductive Health Project assists both governmental and nongovernmental organizations in increasing the capacity to implement science-based approaches to teen pregnancies, STDs and HIV prevention. The Great Lakes Institute for Community Health Educators (GLICHE) is an intensive residential skill-based training for adolescent health educators working in schools and community-based organizations. The mission of GLICHE is to train professionals to facilitate learning about sexuality, HIV, STDs and pregnancy prevention. The focus of GLICHE is skill building in evidence-based curricula. GLICHE provides a forum for analysis and application of sexuality education teaching processes. GLICHE is staffed by a diverse group of educators. Each staff member has excellent facilitation and presentation skills and supports participants in the process of learning. Participant recruitment is national with a special focus on Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio and Wisconsin. The HIV Service integration Project is funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This project is designed to assist women’s health care providers in integrating HIV prevention services into existing services. Today women are being infected with HIV via heterosexual activity at an accelerating rate. Integrating HIV, STD and reproductive health services is one approach to ensuring that women receive appropriate reproductive health, family planning and disease prevention messages and services regardless of where they receive care. If your organization is located in PHS Region V (Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio or Wisconsin) and is interested in integrating HIV services into your family planning, women’s health or community health agency please contact Karen Sherman at ksherman@hcet.org.Region V Infertility Prevention The Region V Infertility Prevention Project (RVIPP) is funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and is aimed at reducing the prevalence of chlamydia infection in the PHS Region V. The project is designed to create and sustain an infrastructure that fosters a working relationship between STD projects, family planning projects and state board of health laboratories in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio and Wisconsin. Region V Training and Technical Assistance Project
The Region V Training and Technical Assistance Project (RVTTAP) is
funded by the Office of Population Affairs, Department of Health and
Human Services and coordinates training and technical assistance to
the Title X family planning grantees and delegate agencies in PHS
Region V. PHS Region V includes Illinois, Indiana, Michigan,
Minnesota, Ohio, and Wisconsin.

The Wisconsin Family Planning Program Support Services Project is funded by the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services (DHFS), Division of Public Health. The project is designed to organize and provide training, continuing education and technical assistance to publicly funded family planning programs in Wisconsin. The purpose of the services offered by HCET is to improve and maintain the quality and cost-effective service provided through community-based family planning programs in Wisconsin.
